Emerging from Norway’s oil capital Stavanger, Poor Bambi cuts straight to the bone and delivers an explosive mix of noise rock and punk. Fueled by energy, spontaneity, and emotional depth, Poor Bambi delivers live shows that are a collision of controlled frustration and total devotion to the music, and continues to establish themselves as a must-see band on the alternative music scene.
Their debut album, Skyscrapers Soaring, Yet We’re Drowning, released on February 6th 2026 on Apollon Records, has already received significant national and international attention. The album captures the frenetic energy of the band’s live performances, combining raw aggression with melodic intelligence and a distinctive artistic vision.
The record has been praised by international tastemakers such as KEXP and Brooklyn Vegan, and the single “This One Is for Free” was added to the Norwegian radio NRK P3 Musikk’s playlist and named one of the three best Norwegian songs of February 2026. The album has also received glowing reviews from Asbo Magazine, alongside strong 9/10 ratings from Metalhead.it and an 8/10 from Musimpedia of Metal.

Poor Bambi consists of Sarah Hestness (vocals/guitar), Espen Eidem (guitar) and Simen Amundrud (drums). The band have played extensively across Norway, appearing at festivals including Jærnåttå, Fjellparkfestivalen, Malstrømfestivalen and Måkeskrik, as well as performing in New York. They have released a number of singles, including “Business or Pleasure” and “Colour Does Not Exist”, produced by Nicholas Sansano (Sonic Youth, Public Enemy) which internationally has been described as:

In January 2024, the band released the single “Unbreakable”, which was playlisted on KEXP (USA), hailed by NRK P3 Musikk’s Totto Mjelde as “one of the year’s best songs,” and included on Deichman’s list “Best singles of the year”.
